Introduction

Research Center for Aging User Experience and Service System Design, Future Laboratory, Tsinghua University(AeX) is led by Principle Investigator Prof. JEUNG JIHONG, to conduct research on user experience for the elderly. AeX is dedicated to integrating emerging software and hardware technologies to solve the pain points faced by the elderly in their home environment, such as difficulties in health consultation, mobility and use of electronic products, etc.

Hardware: AeX is committed to creating an intelligent experimental environment that can observe the behavior patterns, physiology and heart of the elderly in their daily lives in real time. Through the integration of advanced and mature technologies in the field of sensors to collect as much data as possible to facilitate the development of products and services for the elderly.

Software: Based on the construction of the hardware environment, the data collected from various sensors will be integrated through coding to achieve a deeper understanding of the experimental object. In turn, through the integration with psychology, sociology, behavioral science, medicine and other fields to design a comprehensive intelligent interactive platform that can solve the various problems faced by the elderly indoor environment.

AeX adheres to the design principle of "sensing - reasoning - actuating", and through the construction of the basic hardware and software platform, we will carry out research on various branches such as health consultation, behavior monitoring and assistance, and the adaptation of new technologies for the elderly. AeX is committed to achieve a dynamic and benign research process that provides a research foundation for the segmented fields through a large platform, and each branch feeds back to supplement the whole smart home for the elderly. AeX focuses on helping senior people live better lives in the future world. Our research interests include but are not limited to: Experience Design of aging intelligent products, future intelligent aging living environment design, aging-friendly intelligent auxiliary system, using technology and design to create a comfortable and healthy living.
