Research Center for Future Materials Design, Future Laboratory, Tsinghua University(FMD) is led by the chief researcher Professor LE HUIRONG. His research team is committed to building a interdisciplinary research platform, carrying out cross research in biomedical, environmental protection technology, new energy, artificial intelligence and other fields, and promoting the application of new materials and new technologies.

There are several research directions:

•  In the biomedical field, we are developing the research of orthopedic ceramics, artificial joints, antibacterial and antiviral nano-materials;

•  In the field of environmental protection materials, we are developing anti-microbial filter ceramics and efficient photocatalytic wastewater reduction materials;

•  In the field of new energy materials, wo hope to improve the energy conversion efficiency and service life of fuel cell electrode materials through surface and interface design;

•  In the field of robot manufacturing, through the application of lightweight composite materials and three-dimensional printing technology, we optimize the structural design, which is expected to realize the integration of sense, connection and knowledge, greatly reduce the weight, so as to reduce the cost of the driver, and expand the promotion in the fields of architecture, nursing, catering, intelligent agriculture, etc.
