来自英国华威大学华威制造中心(WMG)的 两位教授 —— 纳米复合材料首席教授 Tony McNally、聚合物加工学教授 Ton Peijs,和来自华威大学化学系的 两位教授 —— 聚合物化学首席教授 Dave Haddleton、可持续性聚合物化学教授 Remzi Bezcer,以及清华大学化学系副教授陶磊团队、清华大学未来实验室副主任、未来材料研究中心主任乐恢榕教授团队,围绕前沿材料及高分子材料科学核心内容展开深度分享和交流。


On April 22, 2026, the 2nd Future·Academics | Interdisciplinary Lecture Series 2026, hosted by the Future Laboratory, Tsinghua University, was held at the Shuangqing Complex Building. Two professors from the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) at the University of Warwick — Professor Tony McNally, Chair in Nanocomposites, and Professor Ton Peijs, Professor of Polymer Processing — together with two professors from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Warwick — Professor Dave Haddleton, Chair in Polymer Chemistry, and Professor Remzi Becer, Professor of Sustainable Polymer Chemistry — as well as the teams led by Associate Professor Lei Tao from the Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University, and Professor Huirong Le, Deputy Director of the Future Laboratory and Director of the Future Materials Research Center, shared insights and engaged in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge materials and polymer materials science.




乐恢榕教授致欢迎词,他表示,在清华大学与华威大学的友好交流背景下,未来实验室未来材料设计中心积极推动国际学术交流,拓宽视野,探索交叉学科科研理念与人才培养模式。随后,他介绍了未来实验室的基本情况及在前沿复合材料领域的研究进展。


Professor Huirong Le delivered the welcome address. He noted that the Future Materials Design Research Center actively works to advance international academic exchange, expand global perspectives, and pioneer interdisciplinary research and talent development models under the background of the strong collaborative ties between Tsinghua University and the University of Warwick,. Subsequently, he introduced the basic situation of the Future Laboratory and its research progress in the field of advanced materials.

围绕核磁共振(NMR)及凝胶渗透色谱法(GPC)实时检测和监控聚合物分子量及其转化率展开分享,详细介绍了相关仪器设备及使用方法。该方法具有实时、快速、准确的特点。


Professor Dave Haddleton shared his work on real-time monitoring and control of polymer molecular weight and conversion rate using online Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC), with detailed introductions to the relevant instruments and methodologies. The approach features real-time, rapid, and accurate measurement.

以 “高强・智能・可持续” 为核心,分享了通过混合制造、取向聚合物、智能传感与自修复等技术,实现材料的轻量化、可持续性和功能集成,并探讨了立足高产能制造产业的可行性。


Professor Ton Peijs centered his talk on “Smart, Strong, and Sustainable”, sharing how hybrid manufacturing, oriented polymers, smart sensing, and self-healing technologies enable material lightweighting, sustainability, and functional integration. He also discussed the feasibility for high-volume manufacturing industries.

围绕功能化及可持续性纳米复合材料展开讲述,通过控制表面化学、热稳定性、加工剪切以及填料与聚合物之间的界面相互作用,将纳米材料经熔融混合等技术分散到聚合物基体中,实现导电、导热、力学增强等性能,同时降低成本,推动工业应用。


Professor Tony McNally spoke about functional and sustainable (nano)composites. By controlling surface chemistry, thermal stability, processing shear, and interfacial interactions between fillers and polymers, nanomaterials are dispersed into polymer matrices via melt blending and other techniques, achieving required electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, mechanical reinforcement, and cost reduction for industrial applications.

分享了关于“Multifunctional Hydrogel Encapsulated with Maicalin for Full-Layer Regeneration”的研究报告。该研究聚焦多功能水凝胶在全层组织再生中的应用,通过封装活性物质,促进损伤组织的修复与再生,为生物医用材料提供了新的思路。


Associate Professor Lei Tao presented his research titled “Multifunctional Hydrogel Encapsulated with Melittin for Full-Layer Tissue Regeneration”. Focused on multifunctional hydrogels in full-layer tissue regeneration, the study promotes the repair and regeneration of damaged tissues through active substance encapsulation, offering new insights for biomedical materials.

讲座后,来宾参观了未来材料设计研究中心、嗅觉编码空间、电化学材料三个实验室,了解了相关研究方向及成果。


After the lectures, the guests visited three laboratories: the Future Materials Design Research Center, the coding Olfactory space, and Electrochemical Materials Lab, where they learned about the relevant research directions, and achievements.
