Implemented algorithms inspired by geographic information systems to achieve robot physical intelligence. Used TRACLUS algorithm to segment trajectories by their characteristic points through an optimization function, clustering neighboring line segments and filtering out noise.
Multi-Party Human-Robot Interaction Trust Experiment
· Advanced fundamental research in trust and influence within Multi-Party Human-Robot Interaction (MP-HRI) contexts. Explored how robots and humans establish, maintain, and repair trust in MP-HRI. Studied robot mediation in group counseling, with extensions to team performance in robot service and support teams.
· Developed a face tracking algorithm. Implemented a script for detecting faces in video streams (live from webcam). Created an algorithm for controlling eye movement to track human faces.
· Used MediaPipe to capture face and body landmarks in video streams and photos.
A* and Dijkstra Algorithm Implementation in 2D Mazes
· Implemented heuristic function for Euclidean distance for given [node x, node y] and [goal x, goal y] coordinates. Built various 2D mazes in MATLAB. Implemented A* and Dijkstra algorithms and demonstrated their solutions across different mazes.
Swarm Robots Localization
· Localized target points of swarm robots using hop count localization and simulated annealing algorithm. With known positions of seed robots (for reference), applied simulated annealing to minimize the cost function and iteratively updated initial position estimates of individual robots to converge toward expected positions.
Machine Learning Model Development
· Developed predictive machine learning models for Ohio's 2021 housing prices using advanced regression techniques.

Living Environment Database Development
· Built a multimodal living environment database, involving data collection from cameras, depth cameras, millimeter-wave radars, pressure sensors, and other devices.
Intelligent Robot Murder Mystery Game Host Project
· Developed an intelligent DM (Game Master) robot for hosting murder mystery games in household settings.
· Developed a companion iOS application for the robot.
Smart Furniture Project
· Designed and implemented a sofa posture detection system using flexible pressure sensors and an ESP32 microcontroller. The system collects pressure data through a sensor array and transmits signals to a computer via wireless network.
· Applied machine learning algorithms for data classification and used cross-validation to determine the number of people, their positions, and postures on the furniture.
· Enhanced affective computing capabilities by providing key data visualizations of user interactions, improving system responsiveness.
· Designed and developed web page and iOS application for sofa pressure data visualization.
Robotic Arm 3D Printing Project
· Developed robotic systems for additive manufacturing and intelligent physical therapy using simulation and reinforcement learning.
