Yu Peng received her design master degree in Design from the Academy of Art & Design of Tsinghua University in 2019 and a bachelor's degree in Communications Engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 2016. She will continue to complete her research work as a doctoral student at the Academy of Art & Design Art School of Tsinghua University from September 2019.

Her current main research project is a versatile swarm robotics platform. She hope to explore the application potentials of such systems in educational and entertainment scenarios by utilizing the mutual perception and flexible mobility between swarm robots. She also has a number of new media art works, such as "Yu Fei", which participated in the 2nd Longli International New Media Art Exhibition and Tsinghua University "Everything is Alive" exhibition, “TriNose", an olfactory interaction device participating in Milan Triennial Exhibition, and so on.
