“Media” refers to not only news media but also the ways in which built environments impact the entire society. How could we make the functions of complex building systems such as hospitals and museums more salient? How do furnishings of public space support flexible and open use? How does ordinary landscape help form people’s perceptions of the local community? Space could be meaningful media, and media could be reversibly spatial with specific forms and utilities. The resonation among habitat design, building technology, and humanities will introduce brand new types of cities that both invoke happiness and are practical.
