On the morning of January 8, 2021, Recerch Center for Perception and Consciousness organized the first seminar in the series "Awareness and Consciousness: Hearing and Music". Associate Professor Li Zijin from the China Conservatory of Music, Dr. Jiang Chen, a cochlear implant expert from the University of Cambridge, Dr. Hong Chen, a PhD student from Tsinghua University's Brain and Intelligence Laboratory, PhD students Yuanling Feng and Yun Wang from the Future Lab, and postdoctoral fellow Dr.Yunbing Chen were invited to open an interdiciplanary conversation.

The participants discussed the characteristics of human hearing, the multi-channel informational presentation of music art, and the possibilities for innovation in the context of the intersection of related technologies and the aesthetic experience of music.

In the afternoon, Prof.Zijin Li gave a lecture entitled "Musical Instrument Technology: Sound, Perception and Innovation" in the Future Lab, presenting several innovative research projects on music and new musical instruments to the students and faculty.
